Tamarisk is a complete reimagining of a private family estate in Palm Springs’ historic Movie Colony. Together with our clients, we transformed a mid-century modern era property with classic desert-modern bones into a dynamic landscape built for gathering, play, and everyday life.

A former tennis court was converted into a skate park, basketball court, and pickleball court, turning a single-use space into the energetic center of the property. New pergolas, a renovated pool and spa, a sunken trampoline, pétanque court, fire pit, and pool house are woven throughout the grounds, creating a series of distinct destinations without overwhelming the site.

Yellow-and-white umbrellas nod to Palm Springs’ Old Hollywood legacy, while ipe wood, gravel, and veined boulders establish a restrained material palette. Seasonal plantings in yellow and violet, alongside herb gardens and edible plantings, soften the architecture and bring rhythm to the landscape throughout the year.
